Our Programs and Activities

John Curtin Weekend is celebrated every year to commemorate John Curtin's appointment as Prime Minister of Western Australia on 7 October 1941.

In 2002, a beach-cleaning project was held during the John Curtin Weekend 2002. Free T-shirts were given out to all who participated in this event. Members of the Curtin Community turned out on a Saturday morning to Tanjong Beach in Miri, Sarawak to lend a helping hand in an effort to make the beach a cleaner place! See the fun we had here!

In 2003, Curtin Volunteers! in Sarawak have decided to mark this prestigious day with not only one weekend, but a whole bunch of activities lined up for a whole week from 6th October to 11th October during the "John Curtin Week 2003". The John Curtin Week will be officially opened on 7th October 2003 in the Harry Perkins Lecture Theater at the Curtin Sarawak Campus. Click on the picture below to find out more!
