The John Curtin Week aims to give a chance for the Curtin Community (both students and staff) to show their care for the environment and society through various voluntary work. It also aims to give a better insight and education by holding exhibitions to educate the public about various issues.

Among the activities to look out for during the whole week are:

• Visit to old folks home

• Can food donation

• AIDS Exhibition

• CPR Demo

• Handicraft for sale by the Sunflower Center

The Official Opening will be held on 7th October 2003 at the Harry Perkins Lecture Theater, LT 201. The website will be launched at the same time. A John Curtin Gallery will be set up to give insight and information on the life and legacy of John Curtin.

The Highlight of the Week is our Environmental Care Rally on 11th October 2003. Students and staff will be walking along a route from the Miri Municipal Council to Tanjong Lobang Beach and picking up litter along the way. Free T-shirts will also be given out during this event.
